Greetings,
I hope you are having a lovely start to the summer. I personally have summer classes, but it is for a good cause. Today, I would like to talk about goals.
How many times have we written goals at the beginning of the year or month and forgotten about them?
I have been consuming a few resources that talk about constantly reviewing goals including things from Muchelleb, Mariana’s Study Corner, and Amy Landino. I have a few of my goals written down in my planner, my journal, and my notion. I have even made a vision board.
However, after writing them down, what’s next?
Make a Plan!
How will you achieve these goals? What steps do you need to make before you can start working towards those goals? And how long do you need to achieve them?
Write down what you want to achieve and well, make a plan to achieve them.
Next Review and Evaluate!
Mark it on your calendar and set up appointments to check in with your progress. We are always making appointments for other things in life and your goals should be a priority.
Why Review?
Maybe you will need more time or less time. Maybe you have outgrown your goal. Or, maybe your goals require more steps than you thought.
Evaluate what you have done so you can better analyze your strengths and weaknesses.
Why Make a goal in the first place?
To visualize your dreams and plan for the future. It's a map for you to follow. It guides your decisions and actions.
Do
Prioritize your goals. Prioritize your dreams.
I have a few goals for this summer including creating some art projects, reading for knowledge and for fun, revisiting my French lessons, and practicing self-care.
This is not an exhaustive list and, but it is a start. Also, I need to add more planning to it.
Examples of Proper Goal Setting
Let's look at my reading. I could do 20 minutes a day and aim for 2 books per month. I could also have a tracker where I evaluate the book after I read it.
Or I could set aside a few days to do a least one hour of reading and log those activities into a tracker.
So there, a few planning and evaluation options.

I hope this helps. That’s it for now, peace be.
