Planner Set-up for 2020

Hello Lovelies, I hope all is well. This is the beginning of a new semester for me and I would like to share how I set up my planner.

I tend to prefer a combination of a bullet journal and a binder planner, preferably the Heidi Swapp personal planner because it allows for more options in my planning system.

However, because of my schedule, it is better for me to have most things already made and then I add what is needed. Additionally, this planner is larger than the Heidi Swapp personal planner, allowing me more space to plan assignments etc.. Maybe these ideas can be of some help to you, and if they are, please let me know in the comments below or on Instagram.

Below are examples of how I adopt the bullet journal into the Heidi Swapp personal size planner system.

Currently for my 2020 planner system, I am using the recollections 18-months planner.

Here is a simple tour of the planner which includes a plastic envelope (I am not sure how I will be using this)(picture not included), a welcome page, a glance of 2019 and 2020, a year in review (picture not included), important contacts page, 4 sticker pages (a total of 451 stickers), a paper folder with two pockets, the months of July 2019-December 2020, and a notes section.

This is a spiral bound planner with gold rings and the theme reminds me of the ocean.

The monthly dividers are mostly patterns (some contain quotes) and I was thinking that I could add my own quotes or designs if I have the time.

At the end of each month, there is also a note section which I plan to use as a monthly highlight.

The monthly tabs as well as the front and back covers are laminated. There are options with a thick cardboard-like cover. Though I considered those options, I then thought about the possibilities of spills or pen marks. I also saw a review where the covers of the laminated planners contained a slit on the inside cover of the planner, allowing you the change the covers' designs however, my store location did not have this option.

The pages are thick and there has been no bleed through, which I appreciate. However, if you are using stamps, they do take some time to dry and the pages absorbed the oil from the grip of my pen.

Thus far, I have only used one of the stickers that came with the planner. In my opinion, the sticker paper is thick and of good quality. They do not seem like they would rip easily should you try to remove them after placing them down.

MY SPIN

I applied my goals to the back of the last page of the sticker section.

In the first folder pocket, I added my key, a few extra stickers, and extra scrap paper. The second pocket is currently empty.

For the months of July-December 2019 I added an elastic band to temporarily bind them and used the dashboard of July of 2019 as a place to add extra sticky notes.

On the note page of December 2019, I added important notes including a temporary posting schedule for Instagram- I wanted my posts to be more intentional with a professional aesthetic, so I thought of a this to help with consistency.I also added my class schedule.

On the back cover, I added a running list of my favourite quotes.

I am still in the process of learning how to work with this planner, but I thought that I would show an example of how I am hoping to use the planner.

For the monthly layout, I added an illustration and a quote to a. make use of the space and b. create a nice aesthetic. I divided the right column into two, using the first half for my current monthly goals and notes and the bottom half for important notes for next month.

For the weekly layout, I decided that I would play around with my stamps. I broke the boxes into a to do list (for chores, random to do’s etc.), a to do list dedicated to Simply anna Reece, and a "personal" to do list. However, now that school has started, I merged the “regular and personal” to do list and then created a “school” to do list.

I used the upper- left column to write tasks that I wanted to complete during the current week but wasn’t sure if and when I would get to them and added a quote to the bottom. To the bottom left page, I used this section for notes, and then used the bottom right page for important dates for the upcoming week.

I added a black and white string for a divider-it added a bold enough contrast to the blues and gold and it got the job done.

**Disclaimer: The prices may have changed since I have purchased any mentioned product.

That is how I am using my recollection 18-month planner.

Thank you for stopping by and until next time, Peace be.

~Simply Anna Reece.
