Greetings, it has been a while.
I hope that you are doing well. Today I would like to share my planner setup for 2021.
But before I do that, check out my 2020 planner setup for ideas and inspiration.
Now, let’s get into it. I got my 2021 planner for my local JoAnn’s. It is the 18-month happy planner- classic size. I was at first very skeptical about this planner because I am not used to disc-bounds. For some reason, I could not mentally process the idea of discs and I loved the personal planners from Kiki K.
However, I decided to give this planner a try and so far, I am loving it.
Now, as said before, this is an 18-month planner. For the months that I did not use, I modified the pages to fit my needs and then I stored the other pages just in case.
Storing the pages has turned out to be a great idea, because I used one of them as my test sheet to sample various pens or markers before use in the actual planner. Additionally, I used that page to cut pages down to size and as reference for the holes, that way the important pages are not damaged.
I also love the foliage and water colour touches. My only disappointment was that it only had one note page, but things worked out as I purchased an accessory pack.
Accessories
I got a planner accessory pack which came with a sheet of stickers, a page maker, mini sticky notes, a double-sided folder, and note paper.
I also purchased two sticker books:
The Planner
1. On the first page, I added my name.
2. I kept the 2020 calendar because of the first page, but I may change that later down the road, so stay tuned.
3. 2021 calendar- I took my midliner zebra highlighters along with another marker and highlighted the important dates. I colour coded them into:
a. Jamaican Public Holidays
b. United States Public Holidays
c. School
d. Personal
4. For the written at a glance calenders, I glued 2020 together as I had no more use for it and wrote in the important dates for 2021. I used the same colour scheme as mentioned above.

5. Next are the dashboards for the months. I placed washi-tape over the tabs of the months that I would not be using.
I then customized the at a glance dashboard for some of those months.
a. Key
I added the key that I had designed in my recollections planner, created a key for my classes, added a quote, some washi-tape, and drew this adorable picture that I found on Instagram.
I also used my white gel pen to add dots to the blue background to give it a night sky look, and I believe that the illustration that I drew compliments it well.
b. My notes page
For this page I placed down double-sided craft paper and wrote notes in white. I also used my paper cutter to cut out those circles and covered the lettering that was there.
My plans for this page are to place any random sticky notes that contains notes that I do not need to look at right away. For example: a shopping list of skin or hair products that I need to replace.
c. Folder dashboard
This was a part of the stationary accessories and I have one side holding sticker sheets for on the go (and by on the go I mean when I am away from my desk).
The other side of the folder holds scrap paper that I can jot notes on or use as décor.
d. Sticky notes Dashboard
I felt like the page behind this was exceptionally beautiful and I did not want to damage it (maybe I can use it for another project after this planer is finished).
I took laminate paper, ran it through the laminator, added washi-tape to the side, used one of the unusable pages to cut it down to size, marked the holes, and then I glued my sticky notes from my 2020 planner along with some other sticky notes to the page.
I had cut the holes a bit larger than needed, so I used the gold bow paperclip to hold it in place. I added the gold and white sticker for encouragement and voila.
I also added the sticky notes from the accessory pack to this section, however, it came pre-punched, so I didn’t have to do anything extra to them.
As for the section with the blue sticky-notes, I saw @thiswellplannedlife with black sticky notes and I figured that I could use that to make important things stand out. Thus, the blue sticky note is only being used as a placeholder.
e. My School Page
I used packaging paper to create the banner and my white gel pen to add dots.
I plan to use this page for my class schedules and to jot important information about my classes or teachers for easy reach. That way I do not have to go on my phone or laptop.
I added this page from the glam girl happy planner collection. I made little important notes about virtual learning. I assumed that I would be going to school via remote learning, but some of my classes are face to face while others are remote.

F. My goals
I will be making a post on my goals, so I am not going to go into much detail.
I used packaging paper once again along with silver star stickers, silver glittery washi-tape, and stickers from the create 365 Happy planner sticker book.
(I promise you that this post is not sponsored; I have just been collecting various happy planner products over the years)
I added a quote and a printer page where I hope to write down the assessment of my goals. I got this idea from Amy Landio and Mandi P.
G. Lessons
I kept the last week of December 2020/ First week of January 2021 and made a little journal about the lessons that I learnt on each of those days.
Notes
As said before, the planner only came with one note page. I separated this section by using one of the dashboards and added gold washi tape to the tab.
a. Collage Board
On the other side, I created a “vision” board on canva and added clear tape to the picture to give a sense of lamination. This collage idea I got from @thiswellplannedlife @ 8:15 in her video.
b. Reading Log
Next, I have my reading log that was designed my @this_girlygeek and produced by mapiful. I had this in my recollections planner and taped it on printer sheet and used a silver pen, washi-tape, and packaging paper for décor.
c. My Ideal Day
I had created this in my recollections planner but decided to recreate it for this year. I have my ideal morning and night routine, a list of my hobbies, things I would like to do on an ideal day/ daily basis, and things I would like to do often.
I saw the idea on Pinterest
d. Notes
Next are the note sheets. I have a mixture of the note pages that I got from the accessory pack and regular printer paper where I can brain dump, plan assignments etc.
e. DIY Pocket Folder
I created a folder from craft paper. I added note paper from a vintage note paper booklet that I have. On one side of the folder, I did a little collage and on the other side I made a floral pattern with my stamp set using silver ink and used a silver pen to write various encouraging words.

f. Quotes
Finally, I have a list of my favourite quotes that I have collected over the years.
I am almost finished with this page. I think next time I will jot down the dates that I added the quotes to create a timeline.
That’s it. My 2021 planner setup. I enjoyed creating this and I am grateful that I overcame my weird phobia of discs. I hope it helps you with ideas for your planners or creative journey.
Check out my IGTV for a more visual look at this planner setup.
Have a happy 2021 and peace be.
That’s it for now,
