Recap 2019

And so the Adventure Begins…

Hello again. I am back with an update and like the last update, I would like to set up the scenery. If you want to make it more realistic, you can even grab a cup of tea or coffee. As usual, hot chocolate for me.

The time has been getting a bit chilly so let’s meet at the same lovely café as the last time with hot beverages in hand and a warm sweet delight. A heated strawberry turnover would do for me. We will sit more to the back where the heat from the kitchen can keep us warm and the spices from the baristo/a fills the air. Are you cozy? Let’s get started.

2019

2019 was an eventful year for me as I graduated from nursing school, passed my NCLEX, and started to work towards prerequisites to complete my bachelor’s in nursing.

I also had more paperwork with USCIS (you can read about my international updates here) which was both mentally and emotionally draining for my family and I.

2019 was also the year I admitted to myself that I was a perfectionist.

All these scenarios compounded made it a roller-coaster of a year, but I am happy to say that with God’s help, I made it.

I have also lost relationships or have seemingly strong ones turn into weaker ones, but I have also strengthened other weak ones and rekindled some I had thought were lost.

In the end, 2019 was a good year as I learnt things about self, others, and most importantly, God.

2020

For 2020, I want to continue this path of learning and self-discovery.

I hope to begin my bachelor’s in the near future. I would also like to learn how to place my energy into things and people who matter as well as recognize from early who and what matters.

I have come to realize that people, even the ones who know you may not understand some of your values and goals. They may not see what you see and that is okay.

If they won’t respect your plans and moves, then let them be, but evaluate them along your journey, because at times when you do finally exceed, people want to share in the success, but they chose to abandon you during your struggle.

I have some goals for myself that I hope to work on not only during 2020, but throughout my life. Goals surrounding my spiritual walk with God, self, education, and relationships with others, including you.

At this time, we pay for our meals and I order a cinnamon apple turnover to go. We wrap our scarves snuggly around us and head towards the door. I give you a hug and then we step outside, the wind brushing against our cheeks. You wave goodbye and head down the street, whilst I stand there for a moment before heading in the opposite direction.

I send you a quick text as I reach my destination:

Thank you for your support in my journey and for just being here. I wish you all the best in life and I hope to see you soon. That’s it for now. Peace be.
