How am I handling Virtual Learning-Life Update

Updated: Oct 30, 2020

Greetings once again. It has been awhile. School has taken up much of my time and I have tried to keep active on Instagram because I could not get any blog posts out.

Also, I started an email list. I hope to keep in touch and send out goodies for you at least twice per month so subscribe to keep up with me.

Virtual learning has been a game changer. This may not be a popular view, but I am incredibly grateful for this time and I am trying to relish every moment because I know I will miss it when it is over.

I see this year as being a second chance. As some of you may know, I am an international student and in 2015, I had to go home and sit out a year. To catch up on this story, click here.

For months, I was at home while my friends moved on with their lives. This time, I may be stuck at home, but I believe that I can move forward.

I am extremely grateful to spend this time with my mom and learn from home (if I were going to school, I would be a commuter student which means up to 4 hours on the road. On my long days, I leave home at around 7am and I get home close to or after midnight).

I am extra grateful to stay in my bed a bit longer, start some new projects, work on old projects, and again, be around my mom (do not get me wrong, we have our moments, but I know that not everyone gets to be with family, which makes me appreciate this privilege even more).

Currently, I am at the midpoint in the semester. I have finished a few classes and I have started another. As I have mentioned on Instagram, it is a nursing leadership class, and I am excited and nervous. I am a shy person and leadership is not one of my strongest skills.

Also, I have a new goal: I have been looking into American Sign Language.

My mother and my aunts speak it, and I as I child I was mesmerized by it yet scared. I always thought it was hard and my family never pushed it. I do remember being asked if I wanted to learn, but fear got the better of me and I said no. I wish they would have tried with me regardless.

However, here we are now in 2020. I probably should have had this bright idea in the Summer, but better late than never.

How are you? What new goals do you have? Are there any goals that you have fallen behind in? Are you going to work on them or just let them be until things get clearer?

I would love to know.

That is it for now, until next time, Peace be.

Simply Anna Reece.
